The Long Island Patient Information eXchange (“LIPIX”) is a RHIO comprised of ten healthcare organizations headed by North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital.  LIPIX is among the first adopters of InterSystems' HealthShare platform, and to our knowledge the first to begin implementation.  J2 is the systems integrator for the LIPIX HealthShare solution, with a project team of 3.5 FTEs responsible for systems architecture, interface development, clinical data validation, and user interface customization.  The project has required extensive coordination with both the core LIPIX team and project teams from each of the participating healthcare organizations.

In March 2008, our team completed its first major implementation milestone, a working end-to-end prototype integrating ten ADT and clinical data feeds from five different organizations:  Long Island Jewish Hospital, Nassau University Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, the North Shore Staff IPA Practice, and South Nassau Communities Hospital.  The impressive strides LIPIX has made with HealthShare have also earned it a new round of grant funding from the State of New York's HEAL NY Phase V initiative.
